Copyright & Takedown

Last updated: 26 August 2026 · For publishers, rights holders and their representatives.
If you publish a newspaper and want it out of ABN, email us and it will be removed. You do not need a lawyer, a form, or a legal threat — just tell us which paper is yours. Removal reaches every phone that already has the app within about an hour, with no app update needed.

1. How ABN works, so you know what you are asking us to remove

ABN is a directory and reader. For each newspaper it stores the masthead, the website address, and the address of the paper’s own public RSS or Atom feed. Headlines are read from that feed on the reader’s phone, shown with the newspaper’s name and logo, and every one of them links back to the original article on the publisher’s site.

We do not copy a newspaper’s archive, we do not host its articles, and we do not put our own advertising inside a publisher’s pages.

2. Asking for removal

Email allbanglanewspaper@proton.me with the subject line “ABN takedown” and tell us:

We act on these ourselves and do not require a formal notice first. If you would prefer to send a full notice under the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act, section 3 sets out what it should contain.

3. What happens next

  1. We acknowledge your email.
  2. We hide the newspaper. Hidden papers disappear from the newspaper list, from the headlines, and from notifications.
  3. The change is published to every installed app, normally within an hour. Readers do not have to update.
  4. We confirm back to you when it is done.

We do not argue with a publisher about their own newspaper. If you want it gone, it goes.

4. Sending a formal DMCA notice

A notice should include:

Send it to the same address above.

5. Counter-notice

If your newspaper was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, write to us with your contact details, the newspaper concerned, and a statement — under penalty of perjury — that you believe it was removed in error. We will review it and restore the listing if the objection holds up.

6. Repeat infringers

Where it applies, we terminate access for anyone who repeatedly infringes the rights of others. In practice ABN carries no user-uploaded content: what appears in it is the newspaper list we maintain, so a repeated problem is one we fix at our end.

7. If your complaint is not about copyright

For a factual correction, a defamation concern or a right-to-reply, the newspaper that published the article is the right place to start — we did not write it and cannot edit it. If a paper refuses and you believe ABN is spreading the harm, write to us anyway and we will look at it.
