allbanglanewspaper.org.ABN — All Bangla Newspaper is a free app that brings the front pages and headlines of Bangladeshi newspapers together in one place. It is published by the team behind allbanglanewspaper.org and is independent: we are not owned by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any of the newspapers listed in it.
In this policy, “we” and “us” mean the publisher of ABN, and “you” means the person using the app.
These never leave your device. They are not uploaded, backed up to us, or visible to anyone but you, and deleting the app deletes all of them:
Notifications are off until you switch them on. When you do, Google’s Firebase Cloud Messaging issues your device a registration token — a random identifier that lets a notification reach this installation. It is not tied to your name or your phone number.
Choosing sections (Sports, Business and so on) subscribes your device to those topics. We send a headline to a topic; we do not see who is subscribed to it, and we cannot send a message to one identifiable person.
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand what is being used and to find bugs. These collect a randomly generated app instance identifier, your device model, operating system version, app version, approximate country, which screens are opened, and — when the app crashes — a technical report of what it was doing at the time.
This is aggregate measurement. It does not tell us who you are.
ABN may show ads supplied by Google AdMob. Where ads are shown, AdMob may use your device’s advertising ID to limit repetition and measure performance. You can reset or delete that ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, and on iOS you can refuse app tracking entirely.
The “Submit a newspaper” form asks for the paper’s name and website. An email address and a note are optional. We use what you send only to review the suggestion and, if you gave an address, to reply. We do not add you to a mailing list.
Our older website policy mentioned orders and card payments. That text was generic boilerplate and never described this app or this site; it has been replaced by this page.
We do not sell your data, and we do not trade it. Data reaches these companies only because they run parts of the service:
| Service | What it receives | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Messaging, Analytics, Crashlytics) |
Push token, app instance ID, device and OS details, crash reports, screen events | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google AdMob (only when ads are shown) |
Advertising ID, ad interactions | policies.google.com/technologies/ads |
| GitHub (serves the newspaper list) |
Your IP address and app’s request headers, as with any web request | GitHub Privacy Statement |
The newspaper list and app settings are published as plain files on GitHub rather than served from our own server. That keeps the app fast and cheap to run. Those files contain no information about you.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of readers, publishers or ourselves.
Tapping a newspaper or the “Read on site” link opens the publisher’s own website inside the app. At that moment you are on their site, and their privacy policy, their cookies and their advertising apply — not ours. We have no control over, and take no responsibility for, what a publisher collects.
If you would like us to delete a newspaper suggestion you sent, write to the address below and we will remove it.
ABN is a general news reader. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. News reporting can cover distressing events; we do not filter the newspapers’ own content.
Everything the app fetches travels over HTTPS. Newspaper suggestions are kept on our server for as long as they are useful for review. Analytics and crash data are kept by Google under their own retention periods. We keep no database of readers, because we never collect enough to build one.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise absolute protection — but the honest safeguard here is that there is very little to protect.
If we change what the app collects, we will update this page and move the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced inside the app.
